About the Author

Shreeda is a Nepali-born student of Creative Writing at the American University of Paris. Writing has always been her calling. After moving to Paris to pursue her degree, she encountered questions about herself, her culture, her roots, and the question of —-what exactly—- she should write about during her three years at university.

During her Poetry theory and workshop classes, she became immersed in the different eras that define poetic movements, and it was through this that she came across Language Poetry, which she researched intensively and chose as the subject of her thesis. She was particularly inspired by Language Poet Lyn Hejinian and her work My Life. Language poetry and its experimentation with poetic form finally gave her an academic space that felt like her own: one where meaning and form could be treated as negotiable, where she could put whatever her heart wanted into the world and allow the world to make sense of it.

Based in Paris and her hometown Kathmandu, Nepal, she is currently completing her book Notes From Reality in Transit and developing her clothing brand kuntroversie.
